"The hardest thing in fashion is not to be known for a logo, but to be known for a silhouette." The crop top featured in this look is nothing new. It's actually the same sports bra featured in the Salt and Pepper look. This time, I decided to reverse it. Now the razor back is the front of the top giving it a new dimension with a very futuristic edge. Defintion: (esp. a person in the 1960s) a person of unconventional appearance, typically having long hair and wearing beads, associated with a subculture involving a rejection of conventional values and the taking of hallucinogenic drugs. This definition best fits me (excluding the hallucinogenic drugs lol). As a avid thrifter, I feel that I go about fashion in the most unconventional manor. To correct myself, I DO go about fashion in an unconventional manor. Growing up I was surround by girls that could afford to pay $300+ for designer labels. I have literally seen girls spend their last dollar on a pair of shoes or a shirt all for the "love" of fashion. As I dive deeper into this thrifting realm, I realize that it is more to life than labels. Fashion is really is what you make out of it and I am glad that thrift stores, consignment shops, and vintage stores were able to serve as my outlet. I was about to strip myself of labels, even though I have found many designer labels in the thrift store, and use my apparel as an expression of my thoughts and feelings of that day. To refer back to this post, I am truly a hippie at heart. If I could walk around all day, look at nature, and absorb its wonderful natural remedies, I would. If I could sit on the beach and watch the sunset while my feet are half buried in sand with the slightest kiss from the ocean and a bonfire burning in the background, I would. But reality hits and I am in Atlanta, GA. A landlocked state.I get to escape reality and feel all these feelings in my attire. I feel that actors would understand this concept most. They become whatever character they are for whatever play. Today, I was lifted from this area and was gently placed in land surrounded by calm and soothing sounds. I wasn't Vivian or Nifty Thrifty for that matter. I just... WAS XoXo
